I planned on moving to Nashville in the late summer. That's where the Tennessee Tribune is. But due to circumstances beyond my control, my wife and I have to stay in Clarksville another year. I'm still freelancing for The Tribune and now I'm covering high school sports for the Leaf-Chronicle. My first sports article turned out good, especially since as recently as last week, I didn't know what a "first down" was. I spent a week hanging out with friends who love football and I got familiar with the game.
With the publication of the sports article, I have now officially covered every beat there is in journalism. News, education, government, features, breaking news, community and now sports. I'm blessed with the ability and self-confidence to adapt to anything I'm assigned to do.
I've also decided to be more active online. I'm not the type of person to post things online a lot, but what the heck. My job requires me to live on the computer anyway, and as a journalist, I need to take advantage of this digital age. With all this technology we have, I can post something online and at that very second, people all over the world can view it. I'm going to start using my twitter account more, although it will be mostly for posting links to my articles and videos. I created a facebook page for myself but I haven't published it yet. I really don't want to have to manage two facebook pages. I might publish it one day, but at the moment, using twitter, my website and my personal facebook are enough.
Fall is here!! I'm glad the hot days are behind us. This breezy weather reminds me why fall is my favorite time of the year. Not too
Next week I will go to Nashville to interview Eddie Swanson, the strongest man in Tennessee. This will be my first time filming a live interview. I'll post it for all to see. The article will be front page. I'll keep you posted.
Peace.
